The Huerta’s are leaving Huerta Street
Over the past decade, the relatively affordable property of East Austin has attracted a number of residents and business owners alike. The area has undergone rapid development and as a result, many longtime residents have found themselves out-priced of their own homes.
Mark and Mitch Huerta are among the individuals being squeezed out of their neighborhood as property costs grow. Huerta Street, named after the many generations of Huerta’s grew up on the East Austin block, is dangerously close to running out of Huerta’s that can afford to live there.
